Browser storage con

Browser storage controls: what the supplied site code saves, what stays temporary and how you can remove saved progress.

Cookies and local storage are different

A cookie is a small browser-held value that can be sent with matching network requests. Local storage keeps values associated with a website in the browser and does not automatically attach them to requests. Either can retain information between visits, so both deserve a clear explanation.

The supplied site code does not set cookies or include advertising or analytics scripts. It uses local storage for the optional personal checklist. This description concerns these supplied page features, not browser extensions, separately configured hosting infrastructure or independent sites you choose to visit.

Checklist progress

The home checklist uses the local storage key vaultventureradarp-safety-check-v1. Its value is a list of selected checkbox identifiers, such as whether you marked the password-review action. It contains no password, recovery code, account name or device assessment.

When you change a checkbox, the script attempts to save your choices. A later visit in the same browser profile can restore them. The checklist script does not transmit the value. Local storage has no automatic expiry set by this site, so it remains until cleared by you, your browser or a browser storage policy.

On shared devices, other users of the same browser profile may see the progress. It is a convenience feature, not confidential recordkeeping.

Remove or avoid saved progress

  1. Open the home-page safety check.
  2. Choose “Clear saved progress” to remove this checklist value and reset the boxes.
  3. Alternatively, open your browser’s site-data settings and remove storage for vaultventureradarp.click.

Blocking site storage may prevent persistence, but the checklist can still operate while the page remains open. Clearing all site data may also remove preferences managed by other website components. Private browsing may limit retention after its windows close, depending on browser behavior; it does not make your network activity anonymous.

Temporary interface state

The mobile navigation and account-comparison tabs keep their state only in the current page. The contact tool does not save drafts in local storage. Your browser may independently restore form fields or preserve a page session, so do not rely on closing a tab to erase sensitive text.

Copying a prepared message places it on your clipboard. Downloading creates a text file. Those are device-level actions rather than cookies, and clearing this website’s local storage does not necessarily remove clipboard contents or downloaded files.

External services and further questions

Opening an external reference or your own email application moves you to a separate service, which may use cookies or other storage under its own rules. Our browser-storage description does not cover those services.

Read our Data Handling Notice for page-delivery and email information. If you have a question, contact [email protected] without including account secrets. This page should be updated if additional storage-dependent features are introduced.
